Karoo is a highly welcomed new addition to the already endless incredible food options on Cape. If you're in the area but searching for something more adventurous and unique than sea food, Karoo offers high end South African cuisine.

What an amazing meal! We ordered straight from the specials menu with a few appetizers and drinks to start. This was our first time to the Cape as well as the first time to Karoo, rest assured it will not be our last. Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy flavorful and interesting, go to Karoo 😊

Good food with a South African flair. Not entirely authentic but close to cape Malay style food. Also they have some South African snacks for sale like Romany creams, aromat and chocolates.

A different option when you've had enough of the clam shacks and lobster. Great vegetarian choices. Innovative menu, and good service.

The Cape Malay Stew with tofu was INCREDIBLE. Would highly recommend.

Well you don't expect to have a camel burger on Cape Cod, but there it was, one of the specials at Karoo. The waitress, who was outstanding, recommended it med. rare, as it is a pretty lean meat anyway. Came out that way and nicely spiced with cumin, served on a Portuguese roll with lettuce and tomato. Only minus was that they use frozen potatoes on the side.

Came to listen to Reckless Roots with the world famous Sam Holmstock. They were the best and so were the food and service. Great variety of new and familiar dishes.

What a wonderful anomaly to have out here on the Cape! Delicious and unusual food from South Africa, including locally caught seafood, curries, as well as vegan and vegetarian options. All hot and fresh, served by super friendly staff -- a treasure! Reduced hours in the fall and takes a complete break midwinter, but a favorite whenever we can!

A little pricey but good food and great atmosphere!

Very surprising find in the Cape (it was Cape Cod, not Cape Town, after all!). We were generally looking for fish restaurants, as one might expect. We found Karoo accidentally and it seemed really appealing. Turns out it's a trendy place for younger folk, and with good reason. Mainly South African and other African food options along with more eclectic choices as well. Our dishes were excellent, fresh, with bright flavors. Good service, fun time. Would go there again if I'm in that area.

We were looking for vegetarian friendly restaurant with good food and this exceeded our expectations. The food was appetizing and the portions were quite good. The service was excellent even though it got crowded.

What an unusual find! The restaurant is adorable and cozy. The atmosphere is fun with tribal masks and designs all around. There is both indoor and outside seating as well as a lovely bar. The food is really good and not as spicy as we feared from the descriptions. We tried all the South African specialties and found well really liked them all. However our favorites were the peanut soup, the beef samosa, the monkey gland sauce ribs (no real monkey!) and the curry Cole slaw!

After I had to postpone my South Africa travel plans, I learned about this place and it was a very good decision to give it a try. My entire extended family that was a bit skeptical of traveling 40 minutes from South Yarmouth for a dinner, was absolutely charmed by the place - from its visual side to amazing service and even more amazing food. All appetizers and entrees were great (pair with Pinotage for the best experience), non-alcoholic “mocktailes†were a nice addition to the menu for those who don’t drink alcohol. As for dessert, Malva pudding is a must-try. Will be back for sure!

What a neat and unexpected find on the cape. With fantastic decor and atmosphere, and a great selection of food to choose from, this is a "must" if you are in the area. The wait staff was attentative and friendly. The flavors layered into each dish were delicious.

The food was pretty good. Took a while to get our entree's out and one was kind of cold when it arrived. Great atmosphere though. We will try it again sometime

Some of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had. The ribs were so succulent and I could sit there and eat the samosas all day! Has live music and an excellent drink selection.

We were staying in Eastham and trying to find a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. So this one said it had vegetarian options and it was the closest one to us so we decided to try it out. The appetizer was pretty tasty but was not as big as I'd like it to be and the entree was a tease because it looks like mashed potatoes with gravy but didn't taste like that. It wasn't extremely bad it just had minimal flavor but a lot of spiciness. The appetizers were good with them I'm sure I could have been a lot better and I was a little bit disappointed in that. Overall I wasn't impressed with the restaurant but it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't give it another chance and try something else.

Great vegan options. The hummus was fantastic, and the falafel was some of the best I've ever had. Ordered the vegan bunny which was mighty tasty, but I've nothing to compare it to.

The food and drinks were delicious! Our waiter, Matt, who looked a bit like Misha Collins was excellent! This was our second time here and we will make it an annual vacation tradition.

The porch, garden patio and music is what capture you. Food is reasonably good, hot and lots of choices to please. Good pricing.

We visit the area every year and wanted to try dinner here, but we never did until this year. We should have come earlier. Good choices for vegetarians and meat-eaters also. Diverse menu, but likely a few things to try for less adventurous diners also. The best thing I liked was the atmosphere inside....just different and a more 'fun' look and feel to it.If you are on the fence about giving it a try, I'd say go for it. Glad we did.
